Healthy Handy Holiday Gift-Giving
By Lori Okami
What do you give when you empathize with family and friends who are trying to keep healthy through these difficult holiday months? To complicate it even further, who knows what they enjoy? And even if you do know what they enjoy, do you know what they need, want or already have?
I like double gifting…meaning giving a gift in a package that can be used again later. There are inexpensive containers and bags that come in very Handy and your recipient can stay Healthy. Here are a few examples:
- T-shirts, tank-tops, or a favorite these days, Dri-Fit shirts are great! Give them in an inexpensive but handy nylon or polyester drawstring backpack bag. These lightweight bags are great for hiking, the gym or the beach.
- How about homemade trail mix, given in a handy quality, reusable container (ideal for taking lunch or snacks)?
Easy Trail Mix:
Granola
Craisins or dried fruit
Mixed nuts (salted or unsalted)
Peanut butter chips
- Consider a quality plastic or stainless water bottle (depends how much you want to spend) and fill it with single-serving vitamin drink packets OR single-serving protein powder packets in a shaker blender bottle (the one with the clever whisk ball).
These are just a few ideas to keep the gift-giving Healthy and Handy. Happy Holidays!!!
